Style Inspiration: Natalie Massenet

Natalie Massenet, the founder of Net-A-Porter, is an inspiration as a businesswoman, mother, and style icon all in one (and how exciting to find all these things in one person!).  Anna Wintour has said of Massenet, “Her confidence in herself and the power of fashion for women around the world is inspiring.”  The story of how she came to launch Net-A-Porter is truly remarkable.  It’s described (by Massenet) in fabulous detail at nataporter_mystorysofar on Instagram (click on each picture for the story that goes with it).  With her hard work and belief in its possibilities (when the Internet “bubble” was bursting and many doubted its ability to survive), Net-A-Porter grew from a tiny start-up run out of a back bedroom in her apartment to the thriving source of fabulous fashion (with multiple world headquarters) that it is today (a mere 12 years later).

But back to her fashion.  Natalie Massenet always looks like Street Style perfection– professional but fun, polished with the perfect touch of originality.  If you gaze at her repertoire, it includes lots of interesting dresses (gorgeous silhouettes with just enough unusual detail), fabulous shoes (her footwear alone could inspire a swooning profile), and cool separates.  She clearly loves black and white (don’t we all?), but she’s not afraid to wear bright color or funky patterns either.

Here are some outfits inspired by Natalie Massenet’s extremely chic style.  Enjoy!

  • She is definitely inspiring for sure in numerous ways like you stated and she has such a great style! Out of the pics you posted, I think my fave look is that red dress but really she looks so hip it in all. Lovin’ the pieces you pulled to recreate her outfits! 🙂

    • Thank you, Theresa! I agree, I love the red outfit!! And someone pointed out to me that she looks a lot like Jackie Kennedy, which I hadn’t even noticed (but is totally true)!
