Golden

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren

I expected to love the Golden Globes (again) this year, given that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were hosting again*.  I was not disappointed.  Nor was the fashion disappointing.  So many women looked so wonderful (and I kind of loved Usher’s eggplant tuxedo and diamond broach as well.  Who says men’s fashion is boring?).

My favorite of the night was Lupita Nyong’o in her gown by Ralph Lauren.  In some photos, it read more orange; in others, more red.  But either way, she looked perfectly chic and gorgeous.  Her gown reminded me of Gwyneth Paltrow’s caped Tom Ford at last year’s Oscar’s (remember this? And this?).  Gwyneth credited Jackie O. for her inspiration for that gown, so it appears Jackie is never far away when searching for style inspiration.

But, that doesn’t surprise us, does it?

*Did you read the Entertainment Weekly last month that was guest-edited by Tina and Amy?  It was hilarious, cover to cover, thanks to their special brand of awesomeness.  Here is their interview in that magazine, in case, like me, you didn’t get enough of Tina and Amy last night.
