Today, I’ve got something exciting to share with you! I’m thrilled to present the first peek into my home and the work we’ve done to it. First up is my son’s room.
Like so many things in my life, this room began with some inspiration from Jenna Lyons. After seeing this picture of Ms. Lyons’ little boy’s bedroom, I became smitten with the idea of stripes on the ceiling. I decided to stick with the colors (and bedding) that we already had in our little one’s room, and built his new room around this aqua and orange palette.
With the help of our expert interior designer, Rina Yan, we sourced the perfect paint colors and the softest rug (and re-purposed the chandelier we had in our former entry way). We also added some DIY touches as well (I wish I could say that I was the one DIYing, but I left that to my extremely crafty mother, who painted the starfish I bought in bulk the perfect shade of hot orange).
I adore the way the whole room came together. It feels fun and exuberant, bright but soothing, with all the white and pale aqua. And my little boy gave it the biggest endorsement upon moving in. He declared, “Mommy, this is the best bedroom ever!”
