True, 90s minimalism– including head to toe black– has been experiencing a resurgence of late. This is welcome news in many ways, because, well, black is essentially perfect. And 90s minimalism (complete with its eternal Carolyn Bessette reminders) will live forever. But lest we worry that brights have left the building for good, it turns out they’ve done no such thing. Bits of neon have been seen all over the runways of New York Fashion Week. And this street style look outside the shows is an inspiring reminder of the power of neon to brighten the world.
Anya Ziourova is wearing the most delicious combination of drab green, grey, and the hottest yellow and pink. And– amazing news is– her look (sans accessories) is on Moda Operandi for preorder until tomorrow. I don’t know about you, but I want to jump right into her outfit and wear it around my world. Even the neon pink hat (by Eugenia Kim) is speaking to me (though San Francisco temperatures never really warrant anything but ironic headwear).
I’m pretty sure you can’t be too annoyed with life when you’re wearing this shocking yellow coat. Life in a highlighter yellow coat is bound to be brighter in every possible way.
And, if you can’t wait to get your hands on a chartreuse coat, J. Crew has the same bright idea.
