The Longer Side of Short

Even when the temperatures heat up (which they seem to officially be doing), I tend to steer clear of shorts.  I’m not a fan of anything too. . . well. . . short.  And, maybe this is my age talking, but shorts seem to get shorter every year.  I’ve had many a moment in a dressing room wondering who looks good in shorts that barely cover . . . anything.

Cue the sound of angels singing when I found this pair by 3.1 Phillip Lim.  They are long, but flattering.  And longer shorts are super cool now (have you heard?  I swear, it’s not just me saying so).  Taking their cue from the masculine/feminine vibe of tailoring these days, longer shorts say, “I’m ready to enjoy the weather.  But I’m not going to show any more than you would, dear sir.”  Or something like that.

Let’s just say, I’m in.

  • Ali, I absolutely love everything about this outfit. The pieces just mesh together so freaking well, and I love the super chic paired with the laid back vibe. A total hit from top to bottom. AND I think you can wear whatever length you want. You have killer legs girl. LOVE this! xx

    • Thank you so much, Theresa! You just made my day. And I’m blushing. Vans do seem to make everything look cooler, though.
