When we were in New York a few weeks ago, we had some really special and memorable meals. First up, was the delightful little place called Jack’s Wife Freda. I had read about it in a few different places and really wanted to try it out. And it turned out to be even more fun than I expected. It’s a pretty small place, with a bunch of communal tables, and a vibe that is so welcoming and homey.
It’s such a special little spot, and the food is seriously good. I loved everything I tried, but especially the grilled haloumi, which was a grilled slice of cheese that was heavenly.
And the mint lemonade was divine. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Also on this trip, we ate at ABC Kitchen, which, sadly, I don’t have a good picture of. It was such a cool space; so cool I felt silly taking a picture. But the food was otherworldly. In particular, the crab toast was so incredible, we had to order a second one for our table. And I’ve been thinking of it ever since. If that’s not a ringing endorsement, I don’t know what is. I can’t wait to go back.
