Lucky Us

Lucky Us

Lucky Us is both the name of the awesome new book I started this weekend and the way I’m feeling right now.  As you may have heard, the San Francisco area experienced its largest earthquake in twenty-five years on Sunday morning.  Though there was damage and some people were injured closer to the epicenter of the quake, I’m left with so much gratitude that it wasn’t much worse.

My husband and I were awakened by the shaking at 3:30am, and it lasted long enough that there was no question what was happening.  I even had time to get out of bed and get into the doorway (which after some investigating, may not actually the best thing to do when awakened by an earthquake).  Thank goodness, there was no damage that I’m aware of in San Francisco, and my family and friends all are okay.  I am very grateful.  And it was ironic to realize that the book I’m reading (and have fallen so hard for, though I’m only thirty pages in) perfectly summarized my current mood, as well.

Happy Monday to you!  We’re all so lucky in so many ways, aren’t we?
