Joy To The World

Christmas performance

Christmas is nearly here, and I couldn’t be more excited.  Although, probably like you, I couldn’t be much more exhausted either.  This time of year just takes a lot of energy.  There are just a few weeks in which to get so. much. done.

But tonight we had the last of my children’s school performances of the season, and it was beautiful.  My daughter’s class sang a rousing rendition of “Let It Go” in their school concert, and it was so sweet I was crying and laughing at the same time (okay, I told you I was exhausted, right?)

And yesterday my son had his preschool Holiday concert.  It, too, was precious.  All the kids, bedecked in elf hats (that’s him on the top left), sang a wide array of holiday songs, including probably the cutest rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas I’ve ever seen.

Amidst all of the busyness, it’s been nice to slow down and appreciate all the work my kids have put into these performances (and school for the past few months).  Frankly, it’s been wonderful just to slow down.  I’m looking forward to having a chance to relax as the holidays finally arrive (and all the work of preparing for the holidays comes to an end).

This is such a wonderful time of the year.  And I wish you lots of time to actually enjoy it.
