This weekend I popped into a shop near me because I knew they carried Eve Lom products, and everywhere I go lately I notice people mentioning them. I wanted to see what they were all about (beyond the stunning packaging, which I’m a sucker for). After a helpful introduction to the skincare and beauty products, I decided to try the tinted moisturizer, foundation brush, and the lip balm.
I couldn’t wait to get home and try them. (What is it about skincare and makeup products that gives them the ability to completely transform your day?) First, I tried the tinted moisturizer (which the saleswoman had recommended be applied with the brush). Color me smitten. The brush feels so incredibly good– it’s so soft and disperses the product perfectly– the feeling alone is worth the cost. But it does such a good job- leaving foundation perfectly applied- so that your skin looks fresh and perfected, without being caked on or completely obscured by the product. It also lays a gorgeous foundation for any makeup you wear on top (blush, highlighter, bronzer, etc.). And — miracle of miracles– it still looks gorgeous (and newly applied) many hours later (even if you’ve, say, taken your kids to the park in the hot sunshine, gone out to a greasy pizza place, and done hours of work).
And the lip balm is delicious. It smells pepperminty and feels soft and substantial without being goopy or sticky. It also is the perfect foundation for products to go on top (lip gloss, lipstick, etc.).
I love these three products so much that I’m itching to try more of the Eve Lom line. I’ve got my eye on the bronzer and the cleanser (which is the signature product of the line). Have you tried any of these products? Do you have thoughts or recommendations?
Also, because I needed some color too, I bought this lipgloss (in Flirt). It’s sooo good. The color is lovely and would look good on any skin tone (it also, curiously, looks nothing like the picture online. It’s a nude-y, pinky, coral– which covers a lot of bases, doesn’t it?). I love it so much, I think I’m going to need a backup (to go in my purse and to guard against the potential of losing it and having to be without it).
So, I’d call it a successful trip to the beauty store! Which sometimes is just what you need to brighten your day.
