I wear denim most days, but Marques Almeida’s take on it is entirely different. It’s elevated denim in new shapes with interesting details.
As in this dress, which I wore to my first Fashion Week events this week. It’s a dress that extends past the knee (which is somewhat unusual in a denim dress to begin with). But then there are the added details of frayed edges, big pockets, and an open back which make it altogether different.
Also different– was my decision to forego heels and wear flats (albeit quite sparkly ones). I figured that, given my shady past with heels and being unsure how far I’d be walking (or how long I’d be waiting on my feet), I’d forge ahead in flats. I’m so glad I did. Because I did end up being on my feet for most of the night. Plus, it rained. Plus, we did some walking from venue to venue.
So I was pleased with my decision on all counts. But especially the denim.
