Nothing compares to New York. It has a whole other level of energy, and bustle, and grit, compared to other cities. I love to visit New York City, but when I do, the question of what to wear is always a pressing one.
Because, of course, it’s a quite fashionable city. But there’s also the matter of walking on all those cobblestones (and potentially miles and miles of sidewalks, as well). That requires a special kind of shoe, that for me at least, can’t have much of a heel, if any at all. On my last visit, I opted for these gold loafer slides, because they are equal parts fabulous and functional.
And then there’s the question of clothing. How do you stay cool in the heat, but also prepare for the blasts of intense air conditioning that come with summer? I decided on this easy, flowy lace top and some cropped and distressed boyfriend jeans. It’s pretty and gritty simultaneously.
Finally, I added a new bag that finally became mine after much stalking. It is small enough to wear through busy days with lots of walking, but roomy enough to hold all my essentials for a day.
And then I’m ready for the busy streets of New York.
