Now that fall is here, summer makeup routines are being refreshed for the new season. I have found some new products that I love, and am sticking to some of my perennial favorites. Here is my current make up routine.
After applying serums and moisturizer, I start with Lancer’s Dani Glowing Skin Perfector. It brightens and perfects skin (imparting a subtle glow and blurring imperfections), and creates a perfect setting for the rest of your makeup. My favorite moisturizer right now is Laura Mercier’s Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation. I love it so much that, even when I try previous favorites of mine, I can’t help but go back to it ASAP. It is so good, and even moreso when applied with my favorite Artis brush. Next is Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Weightless Concealer, applied with Marc Jacobs’ concealer brush.
Then the fun part: color. I started using Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick Eye Color in Khaki after reading Sarah Jessica Parker wax rhapsodic about it. It is sooo good. It gives a perfect smoky eye look that looks great both day or night and in a universally-flattering dark greenish brown color. I cannot get enough of this stuff. And then I swipe on Chantecaille’s Longest Lash Mascara (a long-time favorite of mine that enhances and grows lashes and smells subtly of roses. Love.)
When the summer glow fades, I love to use a bronzer to extend it. Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in Bronze gives the perfect hint of color. And I am loving Chantecaille’s limited edition Pride blush. It is the perfect peachy pink that gives a natural flush to any skin tone. And Fresh’s new Sugar Cream Lip Treatment in Buff. It is a perfect neutral lip gloss with a great, cushiony texture and just the tiniest hint of iridescence.
Then I’m ready to rush out the door. And into that beautiful fall air.
